Interests

Intellectual domains, thinkers, and reading that shapes how I reason and build.

The things I find genuinely interesting — not because they're useful for applications, but because I can't stop thinking about them.

Intellectual Interests

Artificial Intelligence & AI Safety

Not just as a tool, but as a field with deep unresolved questions about alignment, capability, and what it means for a system to 'understand' something. The gap between benchmark performance and genuine reasoning is where I think the interesting work lives.

Mathematical Foundations of Computing

Algorithms, complexity theory, and the deep connection between mathematics and what computers can actually do. The halting problem, P vs NP, and the limits of formal systems are as interesting to me as any engineering question.

Theoretical and Computational Physics

The fact that physical reality is compressible into mathematical structure is remarkable. Particularly interested in the intersection of physics and computation — simulation, quantum computing, and how physical constraints bound information processing.

Education Systems & Pedagogy

Why do some educational systems produce vastly better outcomes than others? The answer isn't resources alone — it's curriculum design, incentive structures, and what a system measures. Academia Digital is my attempt to build the system I think works.

Institution Building & Organizational Design

How do you design an organization that outlasts its founders and compounds over time? LINCOLNMUN and Starling Industries are live experiments in this question. I read a lot of organizational theory disguised as business history.

Mathematics for Its Own Sake

Competition math, proof-writing, and the particular pleasure of a problem that has exactly one correct answer and no partial credit for being almost right.
